Twelve Shades Darker Than Black Poem by O Sudhir Janardhanan

Twelve Shades Darker Than Black

Rating: 5.0

Languid arm thrown over
some loose taunt shoulder
Cigarette held lips curls
hide the shiver and quivers

Fish lips, light tipped sticks in fingers,
blow repeated grey smoke spheres
Dense smokes abound and cover
purple kohl smeared eyes that smolder

Pools of memories in the murk
that shy to surface silver lurk
Bronzed dorsum stroke careless
the plum rouged countenance

Indifferent rust fingernail traces
the burgundy caked lips courses
Deeds bereft of loving emotions
just maybe, some involuntary motions

The bloodied room is the same
the people sometimes change
The human rend, spent
the psyche ravished
The physique impaled
to hunter lust and shamed

The attempts, kills the spirits
bury it deep in morass pits
The obscene sex a palliate
for broken heart a sate

The physical peddle
for the emotional cradle
The mar that takes away
the hurt far away

A brown smile just comes
to missing depart
Leaving not a trace, without
reaching the eyes stone cast

The devil too in his rut
refuses to leave the lair, stays put
The Satan red proudly raged
of green demons that roam mind deranged
