Tulsi At Bimaleswar Temple Poem by Sudam Panigrahi

Tulsi At Bimaleswar Temple

River Mahanadi flows with gurgle,
As Bimaleswar reigns the leaning Temple.
Walked out to the bank after darshan.
In the sun saw stars blinking,
Someone perhaps throwing
Mica flakes to the bed flowing.
Kodo fish played as devotees fed them.
Some relished, some on boats,
Savored swimming some.

Saw a woman lotus sitting on a square stone,
Ferociously sheltering her head, the seven snake hoods.
Hair braided, big were eyes, face like the moon.
Red was the sari as yellow boarder shone.

Ornaments on neck and arms, ears with rings.
Only I gazed without any blink.
Walked near, a statue for sure, basil tree on head.
The deity of Tulsi sat composed by the river bed.

A lady with wet cloth walked near her.
Poured some water on basil and revered.
Snatching a leaf, looking at the sun, chewed she anon.

Tulsi she is revered deity of the Hindu pantheon,
Respect to you, as you’re favorite of the Lord Kishan.
