Trying To Be A Savior Poem by Ryan Frenrey

Trying To Be A Savior

I am a wishful savior
Give anything to save us
I am a slave to your beauty
Not in control of my lust

You put a spear through my heart
Telling me all that is lost
And splintered down lie my limbs
As I hung from the Cross

But I will still die for you
And cleanse away our sins
I will wear a crown of thorns
Hoping one day our hearts make amends

Until that glorious day
I shall lock myself away
Close myself in with a stone
Until your warmth comes and I won’t feel all alone

For you I shall stay here forever
Until eternity comes to reflect
Awaiting our love that once was
To resurrect
