True Love Never Leaves Poem by Tina Rizk

True Love Never Leaves

My love,

Trees may lose all their leaves
Animals may stop to breed
Life may become obsolete
Continents may sink deep

The sun may set in the east
And rest in an eternal sleep
But true love never leaves

Our love, older than the seas
Fills me with joy, never grieve
You cherish my soul, never deceive

It's God himself who sowed the seed
Of love in the soil of our hearts deep
Even if the heart ceases to beat
Love in the soul never ceases to be

My tender soulmate, you proved to me
That even after endless centuries
The love that deep in the soul beats
Never, never, never leaves
