True Lies Poem by Cain XXX

True Lies

Rating: 5.0

another lie
delivered splat in the face
with unblinking eyes and innocent gazes.

another lie
though we both know we lie.
we choose to believe it anyway.

we lie
not to be cruel
but to be merciful.
we lie
because to tell the truth
would be to kill.

life's harsh reality - we cannot face.
so we lie and lie that reality away.
with eloquent words, we build up again,
another Truth
just with a different face.

to lie or give false information is generally done as a defence mechanism.some people can't handle the truth and flattery can get them any where. This is a really good freeform poem about the darker side of the human charactor.Great study.A ten from me.
