True Poem by Abby Mize

True

I'm sitting on the porch
At last it finally starts
The fireworks explode
And so does my heart

Cause in the rainbow color
Of just that single blow
I crumbled up inside
And didn't care to watch the show

That one and single shot
It held all of our past
Memories flooded my mind
It happened way to fast

I now lay in my bed
Wishing you were here
So you could comfort me
When i am overcome by fear

I know it wasn't perfect
I know we had some fights
But when you said 'i love you'
Everything felt right

To you i made a promise
I promised not to date
Because i love you so
I promise that i will wait

Soon we will be together
And nothing will stand in my way
You will be the center of my world
And the highlight of my day

Soon none of this will matter
Cause i will be with you
But until that day approaches
I promise to stay true
