Truckstop Eyes Poem by Carsten Thomsen

Truckstop Eyes

Those eyes
of a girl
On The Road
calling home

from a truck stop
in rural
Missouri.

She turned
and faced me,
smiling,
those eyes

seeing
the vastness
of the world
for the very
first time.

Those eyes
beaming with
what
I thought

was true love
or gratitude
or innocence
those eyes

those eyes
those eyes
that saw
when I was blind.

nice twist at the end there & simple, vivid description. ''On The Road'' by Kerouac - reference, i wonder. SusxGLx
