Troubled Heart
You make me smile
For not real reason
In my heart for a while
All the time every season
Last time we met my heart skipped a beat
You can lie with your mouth but never the heart
There is a stranger with whom I shouldn't compete
Bravery should have abound from the start
At night I sleep wishing you were the one there
The real substance for this pain is real
Beautiful face in my dreams in which I stare
But my perception isn't the reality, I can't deal
This life that must be lived by only the thought of you
Commitment to love so young needed much more time
Hearts are the same but the people are not this is true
Wisdom has grown to show that love is blind
Daily I carry the burden of not knowing what could have been
As you aimlessly walk out of my heart and into my head
The one that got away, but has this story come to it's end
I highly doubt it, surely because I am alive and not dead...
