Ernesto 'Che' Guevara
Born 1928 - Killed 1967
'Shoot, coward, the CIA
is going to kill a man'
Che, medical doctor & writer
Also national Bank President
Unsung hero of my youth
Rebel with a responsible cause
Didn't want to waste his medical life
With just prolonging vanityFair lives
Of Argentinian nitwits, the have-it-alls
Became Marxist revolutionary
Like Jesus Christ & Nelson Mandela
Fought with ideas, words and weapons
Guerrilla leader, suspect US war-criminal
Motorcyclist, diplomat, altruistic poet
Created the consciousness of Uomo Novo
Man morality-driven instead of by incentives.
You often told us, Che:
'If you tremble with indignation
At every injustice, then you are
A comrade of mine' (...)
I loved that phrase immensely
And I still do till Death do us part
History judges you're far from perfect
But how-in-the-world, I beg you
With mercy kissing the long-arms of
God's law, Justice embracing the poor
How can I not love you, Che?
- Your comrade
