Trances Poem by Raymond Yaris

Trances

3: 30 AM, wide awake.. thinking of you
sipping bitter coffee, sounds playin' on the radio
I'm missing you badly.. are you still there for me?

Erratic memories flashing in my brain
with eyes swollen.. and lips burnin'
How I hate this phase that I am in

I keep craving for your arms.. craving a single moment..
I keep longin' for your touch.. dreaming for just one second
You could be here and heal my heart

And suddenly I stretched out my hands to you
And through the distance you reached for me too
Then our hands met.. we clasped it together tightly

I pulled you closer and closer.. breaking all the barriers of time
and destiny with just a little effort
Bound by love and desperation I kissed you..
The flames rose and engulfed both of us
Two entwined souls and bound for eternity.. Unite..

And within that moment I found peace
Then with a flick of a second, I realized..
I was just in another.. trance..
