Tragedy Junkie Poem by Casey Renee Kiser / snail viXen

Tragedy Junkie

The florist says
there's nothing but Death blooming today.
The gardener says
there's nothing but worms digging in the sky.
Let's go shopping
to rid our minds of today's bombings.
I hear crystal clear happiness
is just a childproof cap away!
And I hear they make greeting cards now
to thank your therapist FOR NOTHING...
The mortician says
Death is more beautiful than ever.
But what is wrong with the father
who would rather his son go to war
than be in love with another man?
And what is wrong with the mother
who teaches materialistic greed
and how to be shallow- in the deep end?
The reporter says
if you watch the news more than twice a week,
you could be a tragedy junkie...
more on this craze at 11: 00.
The doctor says
if you turn the channel to anything else,
you could overdose on pretty people.
