Tractor Poem by William Hart- Smith

Tractor

Dragging an iron rake
the tractor wallows
across the ocean of the paddock
with a fine excitement of gull
in its wake.

It has two large paddle wheels,
a funnel, with smoke;
and the captain is on the bridge.
having cast off a couple
of moments ago,
he sets a course for the opposite hedge.
