Towns with faces Poem by Nicole Brossard

Towns with faces

so many received ideas like a chasm
in my muscles
someone says very close it's you but it's us
thinking about bridges, ghats,
rivers in a time of peace and torture

a caress along the earlobe
towns made to confound our soul
in the blue beauty of a dream
