Towards Meru Parba Of The Danda Nata Poem by Kumarmani Mahakul

Towards Meru Parba Of The Danda Nata

Rating: 5.0

The Danda Nata is introduced in my previous poem
Titled, 'Repertory Of The Danda Nata, '
The beauty you can gain from my next poem titled,
'Opera In The Danda Nata -Hinjili Sana Party, '
Rituals are performed at day time and at night,
A ritualistic poem I have presented titled, '
'Rituals Of Night Of The Danda Nata, '
Audience is favourable towards opera artists,
From evening to next day via midnight,
Opera binds the audience in love and culture
And to give a little glimpse of its I have written
A poem titled, 'The Danda Nata's Opera - Morabai Party, '
I am thankful to the poets and readers
Who have paid their attention towards each poem,
Glorious days of the Danda Nata are in memory,
People of Odisha have enjoyed this festival.

They have to celebrate the final festival
Which is known as the Meru Parba,
On the day of 14th April 2019,
On which the Chaitra Sankranti day falls,
In their own place they will celebrate
So, they are in hurry to return back,
All danduas or bhoktas wearing yellow clothes
And holding the victorious flags of the Danda Nata
They are marching ahead by walking in bare feet,
Austerity of the past days will be finished,
Again the festival will start next year.

Bhoktas are in the way passing in between people
Without touching anybody they are walking,
Side by side they will walk in highway
And they will cross this city and many villages,
At early morning they will arrive there,
To perform their final day morning rituals
And at mid-day they will celebrate Meru Parba,
At night the final opera will be played
Following a sweet melody night as per people's will,
The final opera will lead with artists up to next day,
A chapter will be closed for next one year
After today's sunrise giving a new smile,
The Danda Nata will give final greetings

It culminates with Meru Parba which is associated with a dress code, songs and music. There is so much of variety and diversity in our country and it is our strength.
