Just like a leaf without any warning
I'm torn away from the plant which I was adorning
Why did I deserve to be cast away
Taken for granted, put out and discarded
Just like a leaf without any warning
I'm torn from the plant which I was adorning
I could be bitter, but I'm not about that
I know who I am and what I'm about
As I take my flight from the plant I was on
I know I'll be caught from one who can see
Who I am and what I can be
Whilst I am waiting for an opening a gap
For a plan that'll enrich what I already have
I'll learn from the environment
I'll hear the wind
I'll feel the sun
I'll see beyond the trees
I'll take on board the feelings I feel
I'll remember that change is inevitable, it's real
So if again I become like a leaf without any warning
Torn from the plant which I was adorning
I'll remember this time
And what I have learnt
My worth is my worth
My gift is my gift
And no one and nothing
Can erase it from me
