Too Soon Poem by Steven Federle

Too Soon

rises the sky
to blue perfection.

New grass waves,
uneven rows
unwary of
the leveling blade.

Delicate flowers
unfold
too soon,

and naive birds
in winter-spare trees
sing
like it's June.
