Too Slow Poem by Chris Leermakers

Too Slow

Who am I
I am Who
Just a regular guy
Just like you
Without the Glamour
No tin foil
Give the hammer
Or the foil
For I’m not fussy
I’m not sad
I’m just easy
Then maybe glad
Give me a break
With no heartache
Better than that
I’ll have a kit kat
Yes, fortunately

That is in stock
Normally
I’m a rock
Without the edge
No big thing
Try and wedge
Me to sing
Even a ring
Will give me more
More than I expected
Lick the sore
I couldn’t be bothered
No mucking around
I go with the flow
In order to sound
Happy and sad
I’m there when you need me
I’ll give you the seat
‘cos when we’re all alone
No dog or bone
We can say or sing
Most everything
Trust plays a role
In kicking the goal
In getting the ball
Look out for the pole

Hey, the jacks
They get here so fast
No time to blink
It’s in the past
Forget or regret
Move over, let’s go
I’m beginning to sweat
Oh no, Too Slow…
