Too Late Poem by Jean Mallette

Too Late

Rating: 5.0

I reached for it.
It was not there.
I feigned to touch
My silken hair.
But it was gone-
So soon forgot
That what was shorn
Now was not.
Sadly missed
By Habit's hands,
Again I'll strive
To touch soft strands
And sense at once
The shock-the pain
Of having lost
My head again!
