Too Late Poem by Chidori Storm

Too Late

Rating: 5.0

What does a father do
When he can't see his own children
When every single night he cries
More than a wolf cries to the moon

How does a father cope
With the fact that he'll never
See his children ever again
Never know what they'll be like
When they've grown

What does a father say
To his children if they find him
And ask him more questions
Then he has answers to

How does a father tell his children
All the wrong he's ever done
All the pain he's caused
And how he was never able
To make any of it right

How can a father face his children
And look them dead in the eye
And tell them that he broke the heart
Of their own mother

Asking myself all these questions
I have no answer to any of them
I have tried answering them so many times
But there is no right answer
Because it's too late to make it right.

Heartfelt words. Through our lives there are regrets that we cannot change but blaming oneself is not needed. Life changes and things change. I wish you well.
