Today's Newspaper Praise Poem by Silivester Kiik

Today's Newspaper Praise

Rating: 5.0

Dried leaves roam freely
lying in the mosquito nets of aridity
starting to be disgusting and no longer morals
with ancestral messages stripped away by violent bars.

Old mahogany branches begin to fall
the sounds of birds have disappeared by the fury of human idols
pemali water is no longer sacred with its mantras
until the season forgets the dates of its arrival.

The newspapers of the day record it with paeans of praise
but discarded in the crevices of time by the readers of eternity
the thorns of the thicket greet it with an afterthought without verse
and silent into the twilight with incense smoke speaking to God.

Imagine with philosophical logic
not free to rule with the rights of hypocrisy
by selling the voices of faith
that will be faded by the scorching rage and storm of tomorrow.

Do not come again to address the void in this silent house
with abstract portraits
because I no longer sing your voice
until these eyes close to pay for yesterday's defeat.
