Today Poem by Phil Soar

Today

No-one caught my smile today
There was none there to light the way
The day started slowly

No episodes of someones life
Told in monotonous tones
While waiting for public transport

The superstore was full of overweight jackasses
Blocking the aisles while on the phone
Calling home, reciting from a list

I must have looked unimpressed
No-one gave me a second glance
I liked that
