Today Poem by Edds Hooves

Today

The sun shines bright,
the birds sing anew.
Joys at new height,
and sorrows are few.

Yesterday is long past,
behind seems every pain
For today is here at last,
come, let's start over again.

As glistening droplets on leaf,
a fresh truth I will treasure
As paupers seeking relief,
no time for pointless leisure.

Tall I stand, proud I walk;
this day I strive to shine.
Rise up and beat the clock,
today is yours; today is mine.
