To Walk on Water Poem by Little Eagle McGowan

To Walk on Water

Rating: 5.0

Daddy sat there on a rock beside the river
Sunshine like a slap upon his shoulders
He had never seen the light of day, not ever.
Born blind at birth, Jeremiah John McArthur.
From his pocket he pulled out a little razor
And then he shaved his face like any other
He said 'Son it don't take no hanging mirror
To see that all it takes is faith to walk on water....
All it takes is faith…
To walk on water'

The sun and moon and stars you just can't alter
But we can make a better world for one another
You can touch the horizon on a beach in Malta
And know heaven not just in the ever after
If you look deeper you'll find there are no strangers
And not knowin this is the only real danger.
Because the love we give and take from each other
Helps us have the faith it takes...to walk on water.
All it takes is faith
To walk on water.

When you've fallen and can't slide any further
Remember not a soul in heaven hadn't faltered
We may not rightly predict tomorrow's weather
But we can all ride out the next storm together
And I've heard some people say, why even bother
But ain't they heard we all have the same Father
I'll gladly take the place of Isaac on your altar
If it lets you see that it takes faith...to walk on water.
All it takes is faith...
To walk on water.
