To The Meddler Poem by Elena Plotkin

To The Meddler

Marriages, Divorces, Adoptions, Births, and Deaths,
You know all about it long before everyone else.
Promotions, Job Losses, Tax Audits, and Bankruptcies,
It doesn't matter if its happening locally or overseas.
Eagle eye, always underfoot, with an ear to the ground,
You never miss a single sighting, odor, or sound.
Your opinions and advice you widely and regularly dispense,
Regardless of who or what you find yourself up against.
Your skills can rival that of an investigative reporter's,
Only you also feel like you have the right to give orders.
And if you manage to cause trouble or pain along the way,
You instantly expect to be forgiven and not made to pay.
You've been called names and told to mind your own business,
So much so, that your name is now inscribed in the Book of Guiness.
And since, you have no shame, no boundaries, no filter, or regrets.
You've managed to coolly keep all your secrets while others have had to sweat.
