To One Who Is Absent... By Zhang Mi

Rating: 5.0

I cannot forsake the Xie house while dreaming
Of its small lane with graceful orchids leaning
Only spring moonlight on my bed assuages my emotions
While these flowery shrubs recall lost fallen blossoms

I enjoyed this. I appreciate the difficulty of doing this translation having just put in a semester of Chinese language here in China where I am living.

You must be a genius to be able to translate such a language and so beautifully. Only 4 lines but so full of description and Emotion. One Sees and one Feels the emotion, thanks to your wonderful translation! Thank you, honorable poet
