To New Beginnings Poem by Remember Always

To New Beginnings

I’m surrounded by hundreds of new faces.
Not one have I ever cared about,
nor want to acknowledged..
pushing my existence past
lonely students, and
math classes..
sliding to the far left corner of my isolation,
I feel the darkness,
but I know where my heart is..
lying beside musically inclined
graduates and artists..
I’m a bit saddened, for the old faces
and old places we've
occupied,
now inhibited with new
ones, making memories
where I once did.
It hurts to let go,
I don’t want to let go..
