To My Ton Poem by Rajkumar Panthoiren

To My Ton

I have kissed you without kissing you
Held you without touching you
Left you without leavin' you
But I could never love you without loving you.
Who can take that away
from me?
Can you?

But dear,
when your smiles turn into an uneasy crescent of fragility
with each second that passes by,
I can't bear to see
what I have made of us.

But you,
you belong to the clear lucent stars
and the infinite sky
where you paint freedom
In silvery tints of your own summer and autumn,
where you have conquered the cold winds.

In the safe cove
of your dreams and your songs,
yet again
when you huddle up for the night
against the storm,
I will be fighting the same battle
Far away, out of your sight.

But you'll hear me whisper..
'Hey angel, don't you ever give up,
don't you ever give in.'
You'll hear me whisper...
