To My Lover, My Friend Poem by James Darwin Smith II

To My Lover, My Friend

False prophet
Insidious lover
Harbinger of deception
Always getting his way

Forked tongue speaker
Drama seeker
Playing games
Driving her insane

Energy drainer
Guilty,
But keeps blaming her
As he always wins
In the end

She lost everything
He gained so much more
For her she thinks
There is never going back

He is a god to her thoughts
And the curse to her heart rotting

Plotting to leave her
When he takes
All of her resources away

So sad this is
Another victim has fallen
As he walks off proudly
Looking for
Another beauty to prey on

For him
It's just another typical day

These tears of mine
Cry out in pain
Knowing she
Is not the only one
And she will find
Another like him
Someday

Love can be so twisted
Serpentine submissive
Feeling each heartbreak go by
Tired of seeing
Love being mistreated
But oh well
I guess that is just life

If lonely I will forever be
That is fine by me
As long as I will never be
Anything like him

Still. I feel love is real
And perhaps things will change
As do see love reigning
Here and there
So rare
But it still remains, strong

So much beauty
Within and on out
To be a true man
Is to celebrate it
With open arms

To sacrifice
For the one true love
Is worth any pain
That was felt from before

Love's true prophecy
Is a journey
Worth fighting for

Beautiful lover
Brokenhearted
Have faith
Be strong

With patience
That shrapnel heart
Will be fixed again
And it will feel
Better than it has felt before

Then you can believe
In true love again

It may hurt now
But keep fighting
And love will finally win
In the end

Love's true prophecy will make amends
Better than ever
My love, my friend

This is to whomever
Is invoking my sixth sense

It feels so strong
I hope for the happiest of endings

My lover, my friend
May all hope reign endless

Forever, My lover, my friend
