To Lead Them Poem by brian chacon

To Lead Them

They are young and wild like the Santa Ana winds in the canyon.
Yet they are calm and curious like a kitten exploring their new home.
In there uniforms of blue: Tiger, wolf bear, or Webelos. And even tan of for older boys.
Scouts is who they are unique in there own way, always curious and thriving for new.
To be the one who is the watcher, planner,
and director is a job within it self.
It’s worth it to see them succeed on their quest for knowledge.
As cub scouts they begin the Leader is the one who guide them, giving courage and direction.
As time progresses the Webelos scout is the turning point to a better life and we begin to give them space.
And when they cross over to be a Boy Scout
we stand back and watch them grow.
We stand by to keep them from losing direction, yet still step back to let them shine.
And we give them the tools to manhood and do are best to teach them the right way.
The greatest of birds is the Eagle, and the rank of every Boy Scout, and boys grasp for it.
An Eagle soaring high is the boy who makes a different in his life and world.
But the greatest thing of all is to hear
him say...
If it wasn’t for my leader I would be who I am today.

God Bless all Scout Leader
