To Each Their Own Poem by Pasquale DiMeola

To Each Their Own

This box contains your dreams
The fingerprint of your wishes
The aspirations of your future
The fulfillment of your heart's desire

Hand wrapped in golden layers
Of impenetrable thoughts still lingering
Pain and ecstasy yet to behold
Distractions by the thousands

The ribbon is made of human emotions
Twisting through the knots of reality
Triple tied with doubt and courage
Frayed like the strings of an old kite

What a box of wonder it is
Teasing the imagination for a decision
Whether to be left undisturbed
Or ripped apart for what lies ahead.
