To America; For Love Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

To America; For Love

Rating: 4.0

America, the God’s Own Country
The land where love flows like the snaking streams

The streams that meander through the hills, the bushes and falls into oceans
Yet the oceans go around covering globe
They carry the love; a washing it on the coral shores of each continent
This love flows through the air covering all the countries just like the westerlies and the easterlies.
Love become more contagious than the dreaded AIDS and other combined.
I caught it from the air, by the name of the internet.
The name of the love is Sussy.
The yet to be crowned Miss Universe.
A beauty not yet discovered
And now I want to go to her
For she needs me in her arms.
For my love; for her love in America
Then to America, I go, for love.

(This poem is from a short story I wrote some years ago about two lovers who met through the internet)
