Timesong 07 Pride Before A Treefall Poem by Stewart McKenzie

Timesong 07 Pride Before A Treefall

Bishop Berkeley had it backwards
When he talked of treefall.

The quantum world needs privacy
To realize possibilities.
Peek and it freezes.

We are unwelcome voyeurs
Not creators.

It is we, not the tree, that cease to be
When there’s no-one about in the quad
