Direct from me to you. No watchers.
Whispering together in the privacy of our minds.
When poems are performed therefore
Before an audience of many
The poet should instruct the company
To ignore each other.
This performance is for you alone.
This brings poetry into focus. Although widespread (hopefully) , poetry is best read when it's intimate.
Hello Stewart, Your words really hit home - I am a children's author and I do a lot of school visits, often doing up to five presentations/readings in a day.
