Times (1968) Poem by Robert Ruiz

Times (1968)

People are a running ‘round

Ships are caught and

Planes gunned down

Images of a nuclear ban

A world of peace is sought

Yet kids are beat

but never taught

So youth calls a small retreat

God is something of the past

Some say He’s dead

While others fast

And atheists are by Murray lead.

Seems time’s a meaningless thing

that passes by while

Children play and

Women cry and Robins sing.

R. Ruiz  1968
