Time, Season And Reason Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

Time, Season And Reason

The turn, the season, the reason

Do you ever wonder when you will die? I do and i think you do too.
Thank God we are made mortal,
to leave this earth go to another portal. I don't know why people sob and feign sorrow,
as if a beloved will rise again tomorrow.
When someone passes on,
its time to go on the phone,
call for people to come drink, eat and be merry,
because life is not a game of cat and mouse like Tom and Jerry.
No matter who you are, black, white
or whatever hue and colour,
we all end up silent at the parlour.

Who is he who says he be the master of another human?
Who is she who says she be the queen among all woman?
With all riches, the time reaches when you join the food chain,
like flotsam discarged to the flood plain.

I beseech you my brothers and sisters, significant others and all creatures,
do good unto others and your soul will rest in peace,
your tombstone we will kiss.
We will have wine, whiskey and beer and your passing will be our cheer,
because the laws of death are not ours,
and bury you in hours. Such is life.
