Time's Swift Current Poem by J.B. LeBuert

Time's Swift Current

Rushing through life without a plan
Time will catch up when it can
Does time ever lose its sense of speed
Time marches on, no matter the need

Drowning in the swift current of time
You're already now past your prime
Nay, "Stop I cry, Stop today"
Twas only yesterday
As a babe I did play

Birthdays speed by, fast as they can
Do we really need a life plan
I can't row against the torrent
To foolishly try, is abhorrent

Times swift current rushes on
Passing all, before it's gone
We can't escape Grim Reapers chime
We can only live and rhyme
But not escape the sands of time
