Time Rules Carved Out Empire Journeys

Rating: 5.0

Darius I of Persia earlier standout stars;
having attacked conquered Ancient Egypt
built a canal linking his Persian Red Sea?

To the Mediterranean through desert sands;
Darius's canal wide enough for two triremes
to pass each other with all oars extended?

Required mere four days to canal traverse;
history turns Persian Roman Empires are extinct?
No Eastern Roman Empire now time rules?
