Time And Again Poem by Stuart Doggett

Time And Again

Each time I look about
It's not there,
It's not around,
I stalk the roads real slow,
The lights are on,
The engine's low,
I know it's hereabouts,
I wait for it,
It must come out,
I want to see its face
And smash it til
It finds eternal grace.

And
Once again
I've got to purge myself of it,
Time and again,
Time and again,
Time and again I'm suffering.

And as I'm drifting off
It makes its move,
It dashes off,
I turn around real fast,
I see its shape,
It will not last,
I catch it in the lights,
I see its eyes
A-shining bright,
Wait til I get up close
To take it down
But you know I won't.

And
Once again
I've failed to purge my mind of it,
Time and again,
Time and again,
Time and again I'm suffering.

Time and again I break,
I can't forgive
This last mistake,
Time and again I know
The time will come
And off we go
Again.
