Asking Questions Of The Aliens Poem by Stuart Doggett

Asking Questions Of The Aliens

Hello new found strangers,
You look so much like me!
Where did you come from
And what are you doing here?

Your features are all perfect,
Your faces all the same,
I wonder how you came to be
So perfect/ugly/plain.

Plastic shiny people,
Living plastic shiny lives.
A hint of something real
Behind plastic shiny eyes.

Is there a living creature
Beneath your moulded grin?
Or do you have a rubber heart
Underneath your polythene skin?

Are you made in factories,
A production line of things?
Or do you make each other
Just like human beings?

Plastic shiny people,
Living plastic shiny lives.
A hint of something real
Behind plastic shiny eyes.

Are you really human
And choose to be this way?
Or are you just trapped inside
This fake and nasty layer?

How did you turn into this?
That’s not my biggest fear,
Will I next turn into this
And give up all that I hold dear?

Plastic shiny people,
Living plastic shiny lives.
A hint of something real
Behind plastic shiny eyes.

Is this something from the movie Star wars? Or it from home?
