Till Death Comes Poem by Jesse Mejia

Till Death Comes

Why did I sit there, Watching you in pain?

My words were so useless, Pathetic, dull and plain.

I never truly listened, To what you had to say.

But now my time is short. As the night turns into day.

i can remember all the things, i probably should have said

simple little signs of love, while lying in our bed.

Now as death approaches, i seek a day to burrow

just one more simple day to try and lift your sorrows

One single day, to set all wrongs to right.

but now you're growing cold, as i hold you tight.

The blood that once ran, warm within your veins,

Tells tales Of your sufferings strife and pains.

It slowly runs along, your Scarred and pale skin

Telling hidden stories, of tears you held within

Now i tell your tale deep within my heart

And my promise to you, is we shall never part.

Now I shed a tear With hopes I’ ll see you soon

For now i cut my wrist, and stare up at the moon.

And though death has taken you, and my heart now slowly drums

I'’ ll hold your hand in mine Till death for me has come.
