Tide Of Memories Poem by Diwakar Bhatt

Tide Of Memories

Tender was the night with star studded sky,
Full moon in the cloudy veil seemed a bit shy.
A zephyr too wafted a mystic fragrance,
As if buds too blossomed in due reverence.

Recumbent I was but miles away from sleep,
Drowned in poignant memories very- very deep.
Incidents became real alive before my sight,
Intermingled, sweet love and lovers’ tiffs light.

Lad I was naïve, unknown to the path of love,
Lass you were demure, decent beauteous dove.
We were strangers to each other in totality,
Exchange of words was marred by frugality.

Fidgeting with the ring on your little finger,
All I wanted those nervous moments to linger.
Since that day you dwell in me as if my alter ego,
Our bodies are different but souls united long ago.

You are away but not beyond my thought,
Ties of love unbreakable, god has wrought.
Rhapsody of love, my heart sang with lilt,
Time will pass but my songs will never wilt.

You are the very soul of my pulsating poetry,
Words alive & gay in real rhythmic symmetry.
