Throwing A Tree 2

It's no news to me
that 'to throw'
is 'to give birth to' and 'to toss';
but it was to see
that 'to throw', too,
is 'to cut down a tree'.

That a lumberjack is a mother,
I've heard, and often agree;
but that one is a wrestler,
I have been unable anywhere to see.

'To throw', too, is 'to execute'.
I saw today, in a poem by Hardy,
two tree-throwers 'two executioners' be.
