This Weird World's Weird Ways - I Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

This Weird World's Weird Ways - I

A banana stuck on to wall
Turning out a piece of art mighty tall,
When sold for hundred twenty grand,
It shakes up art world's pricy ground.

The artist was the same old hat
That had made a golden toilet—
Cast in solid gold, not token,
That later got from a palace stolen.

A banana is many things
To many, one that strange songs sings,
And a symbol of global trade,
And always a butt of jokes banal made.

A double entendre oft sour,
A classic ruse for dull humour
Making many go banana—
A humour damp like bath sauna!

Yet, even for such a job so banal,
The artist struggled, scratching head,
And one Eureka day woke up and said:
Ah live banana on a wall panel!

Thanks for visiting dear poet, there are nuts in this world's art scene who make banana a scapegoat, as it were!
