This Small Sphere
This small sphere
Mankind occupies
In a vast universe
Or multiverse, perhaps
And yet, human beings
Are seldom content
To live in peace
With one another
Whether it is children
Fighting in the school yard
Or neighbors bickering
Over the back fence
Or nations seizing territory
From other nations
Wanton violence, sadly
Seems to be the hallmark
Of the species.
