This Silence Overwhelms Me Poem by Shalom Freedman

This Silence Overwhelms Me

THIS SILENCE OVERWHELMS ME

This silence overwhelms me
It is too much
The inner hunger
The ambition
All want to cancel it out

Where however is any Beauty in all of this?

Words should take flight
Imagination should mean something
Poetry should have a special light and life in it

Dull dank damn dim dust
I can already see the end of me

But where is my beginning again?
