This Road Poem by Caroline Bodnar

This Road

Where does this road take us
Nobody knows
No one can show us
For we'll won't learn on our own
Maybe no one really ever knows
So they don't have anything to show
Always keeping their mouths shut
Longing for hope
Hoping they'll find a shortcut
To the end of this weary road
Maybe it wouldn't be so weary if we knew what the future holds
What a shame to be so weary dwelling on things that no one will ever know.
