This Moment In Eternity Poem by Mathews Ninan

This Moment In Eternity

Tonight, let’s hie to the villages
‘nd sleep in the fields-
soothed by the chill evening air
watched over by the sentinel stars
that silently keep their ceaseless vigil.

Let’s be up early and
Watch the gray streak
The indigo night sky –
Listen to the first flutter
Of sleepy wings and the
Bleary eyed questioning chirp –
That turns to joyous chorus
As morning paints the
Lightening sky myriad hues
Red, orange, yellow, golden bright.

Let’s wet our dream heavy lids
with dew that glistens silvery on
Every blade of morning grass –
Breathe deep the musky earthy smell
That wafts from the wakening world,
Moist our parched tongues
With heavenly dew
That brims in the buttercups.

There in the midst of all this glory
My luv, I shall weave for thee
Garlands three and bracelets twain
With daisies that gently sway
In the cool morning breeze;
There my luv I shall crown thee
With a wreath of violets,
Enfold thee in my arms
Kiss thee deeply once ‘nd
Then raise my face heavenward
In prayer, thanking the Lord
For thee and this moment in eternity.
