O Lord your people are dying,
Invisible and invincible,
An evil enemy has come to destroy us.
We are helpless.
Our effort is useless.
We are here at your bidding.
And we have learnt to rise from heartless primordial jungles,
steady ourselves,
And learnt to love one another.
True we have had wars and sheds of blood,
These are outcomes of conditions we had had to live in,
No fixed abode,
Braving cold, fear of ruthless animals
Far stronger and bigger in sizes than us,
Andconstantly facing fire from the sky.
We still have no answers to many questions.
We saw our close ones being torn to pieces
And devoured before our own eyes,
Nightmares at night
And during the day no place to hide.
No one told us why we are here
And who put us homeless in the middle of dangers untold
And from whom could help be forthcoming.
Here we are now,
After having come so far...
On the verge of extinction.
Have mercy!
If as you say we are your children,
You are our mother
Father and friends,
Then grant us shelter.
Show us mercy, look at our achievement.
This is my prayer to Thee.
