Think Of Me Now And Then Poem by Michael Silver

Think Of Me Now And Then

Hugs and kisses for everyone
Then I walk away like a prodigal son
Left to wander the rest of my days
As we go our different ways
I’ve never really been good at saying goodbye
But now that we’re leaving I might as well try
You’ve been a superb friend
Right down to this solemn end
You’ve been like a brother
And you have proven to be like no other
You shall always be my favored sister
Who gave me all the love I could muster
You are a congregation grand
And for the last few years you were all that made me stand
But now it is time for us to part
Leaving me back at the start
So forgive me if I ask you to do one last thing
A final hope to which I can cling
In case I never see you again
Please think of me now and then
