They Say Poem by Tessa Gaoses

They Say

They say you had a happy life
Your dreams you worked to achieve with might

They say you had a kind heart
Your friends found comfort in the warmth of your hearth

They say you lived your life to the fullest
But your life was the shortest

You should still be among us
But you are parted from us

Now you are with us in a different way
The sea you loved now you are at a different bay

They say it was God’s will
So we have to swallow this bitter pill

So to God we pray
To help us deal with this pain
